June 2009 Index Report:
(July data released on July 17, 2009)
June Private Company Index data reveals that the mid market sector's
revenue performance dropped this month over last with the index falling
6%. The positive news is that when looking at the index's position at
May 09, as compared to May 08, we see that revenue performance is up 31%over this 12 month period--indicating that even in this tough economic climate this diverse set of $5M - $250M companies has, in aggregate, experienced revenue growth over the last year.
This recent measurement period shows positive signs for the major
capital market indicators. Analysts noted a slight 1.5% increase in the
S&P Small Cap 600 but saw a moderate 3-4% increase in the DJIA and the Nasdaq Composite indices.
However, analysts are anxious for the pending congressional testimony from Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on the White House's proposed overhaul of the nation's financial regulatory system which may effect investors optimism.index
